Ram wanted to go to airport. He traveled 35 km in 1 hour from his hotel and realized that if he travels in the same speed he will be 1 hour late for the flight , so from there he increased his speed by 15 kmph and reached the airport half an hour early . Find the distance between his hotel and the airport


The answer is 210.

Suppose that Ram must travel x x km to the airport after his initial 35 km. Note that, by increasing his speed from 35 35 kmph to 50 50 kmph, he saves 1.5 1.5 hours. This means that x 35 = x 50 + 1.5 \frac{x}{35}=\frac{x}{50}+1.5 . Solving for x x , we get that x = 175 x=175 , so the total distance is 175 + 35 = 210 175+35=\boxed{210}
