One day, the tortoise, hare, snail, and Peregrine falcon had a race on a 100-foot long race track. Whoever crossed the finish line in first and second place respectively would be a winner. The tortoise would crawl at a speed of 1 ft per minute. The snail would move at a speed of 1 ft per 5 minutes. The hare would move 99/100 of the distance he needs to complete the race per 30 seconds. (Example: If the hare had 100 meters to go, he'd go 99.) Finally, the Peregrine falcon would fly 999/1,000 of the distance he needed to complete the race per second. (Example: If the Peregrine falcon had 100 meters to go, he'd fly 99.9 meters.) Who would be winner of the race? (This story is all made up, and thanks to Percy Jackson for giving me an idea to do this riddle. Share your solution in the comments.)

The hare and Peregrine falcon would keep getting slower and slower in the race, and would never finish because they would never go all the way they need to finish the race. The tortoise and snail go at a constant rate and will eventually finish after a long time (even though they're the slowest of the racers). Thus, the answer is Snail and Tortoise . (Yes, this story is 100% made up, and I'm 100% percent sure about that. Now you know if you didn't understand why this wasn't real before.)
