Always remember that the order of elements present on Earth in descending order is- O-Oxygen Si-silicon Al-aluminium Fe-Iron Ca-Calcium Remember This sequaence and all questions Related to Most abundant metal non metal are just Free To you HOwever This Question can be solved Using A little Logic Earth--------------------->71%Water Which contains oxygen Also Oxygen Is present in atmosphere And is contained in Silicate minerals (which explains why Silicon is also very highly ranked).!!!!

It greatly matters how we're defining "most common", whether it's by mass, or by the number of atoms.

I dispute the validity of your "little logic". The water on Earth's surface is pretty minimal, when compared to the amount of oxygen in the earth's crust that is contained in Silicate minerals (which explains why Silicon is also very highly ranked).
