Jilly, Zach, Malia and Jerimy wants to cross a weak bridge. The bridge can only carry 3 people as they only have a torch and 3 of them have to walk together.

The following are the time needed to cross the bridge for each person:

Jilly: 20 minutes
Zach: 10 minutes
Malia: 5 minutes
Jerimy: 1 minutes

What is the fastest time that all of them can cross the bridge?

Note: The time required for three people to cross a bridge is equal to the time required by the slowest person

Since The Bridge Can Carry 3 People, We Can Put Jerimy, Jilly And Zach Together. ( 20 Min ) Jerimy Went Back. ( 1 Min ) Jerimy And Malia Goes There ( 5 Min)

You have to mention that in order to walk on the bridge, they have to go together, meaning one of them has to come back. Otherwise the answer is 20. 20, 10, 5 start walking, as soon as 5 reaches other end, 1 can start walking. So after 20 mins all 4 have crossed the bridge.

You need to mention in the question that they have to go back. Other wise the answer can be 21.
