You have a cable that will reach around the circumference of the earth (+/- 40,000 km). If you put poles of 1 meter high around the world and lay the cable on these poles, how much longer will the cable need to be? (Answer in meters)

The length increases by 6.28 meters irrespective of circumference when radius is increased by 1m

how? :) can you explain it more clearly? :)

Circumference is calculated by C=pi * D so if the radius increases by 1m, the diameter increases by 2m. So the Circumference will be 2pi bigger = 6.28m
