The Earth is not a rogue planet

Classical Mechanics Level pending

A small rogue planet has been colonised by alien-human hybrids as the first of the Fourth Great and Bountiful Human Empire. Scientists were testing jettisoning projectiles on this spherical planet and recorded this down before they started:

Data:

  • Planet radius is 1200km

  • Planet mass is 1.08 × 1 0 24 1.08 \times 10^{24} kg

  • Projectile speeds are 100m/s

Find the distance (in metres) between the starting point of the projectiles and the collision post of the projectiles with the ground. Assume this testing procedure occurred on flat ground.

The answer is 200.
