Anna was walking around the streets when he actually felt a patter around her a road sign stated 5 then after a couple of seconds walking it then became 15 then 45 then 95 then 165 and the last sign she saw stated 255. What would probably be the next sign?


The answer is 365.

Another way to determine the pattern sequence is to note that, if we write the first sign number as 05 05 , then when the last digit is removed from each of the numbers in the sequence we are left with the sequence of perfect squares, i.e., 0 , 1 , 4 , 9 , 16 , 25 0, 1, 4, 9, 16, 25 . This means that the next sign would probably read 365 \boxed{365} .
