The lily pond

In India water lilies grow extremely rapidly.In one pond a lily grew so fast that each day it covered a surface area double that of the area it had covered the previous day.At the end of the thirtieth day,it had entirely covered the pond.How many days will it take for two such lilies to cover the whole pond?


The answer is 29.

It doesn't make any sense. Imagine a lily in a pond, you said that on the 13th day, it covered the entire pond. So it means that on the 12th day, it covered half area of yhe pond. So if there were 2 lilies, it would take 12 days for them to cover the pond
