In one day and one night, he climbs up 3 − 2 = 1 meter. It follows that in twenty seven days and twenty seven nights, he climbs up 1 × 2 7 = 2 7 meters. The next day, he climbs up 3 meters making a total of 3 0 meters in 2 8 days.
