Andy and Ben are friends. One day, they decided to get together, so they started riding bikes towards each other. They plan to meet at the RC Supermarket. Each is riding at 6 km/h. They live 72 km apart. One of them has a pet messenger pigeon and it starts flying when the friends start biking. The pigeon flies back and forth at 18 km/h between the 2 friends, carrying messages until the friends meet.

How many kilometres have the pigeon travelled when the Andy and Ben meet?


The answer is 108.

Pigeon flying will be in G.P. between them...of infinite terms with first term 54 km

It is simple question, andy and ben will travel for 72/(6+6) = 6 hours

In that time pigeon will travel 18*6 = 108 km

Andy and Ben move with same speed , meaning that they will travel the same distance till they meet up . 72 / (6+6) = 6 hours , each 1 of them take 6 hours . The pigeon flies back and forth at 18km/h between the 2 friends . then 18 times 6 = 108 km. and i got a question - - . They live 72 km apart and why dont they take train or bus - -
