The mysterious object

Logic Level pending

Alice went on a trip to go round the universe. He was very happy visiting all sites of wonder until he met one mysterious object. He was unable to determine what that object actually is. So he decided to ask his AI about it. The AI asked Alice some details about the object.

Below are list of details Alice noted about the object:

  • It had fixed width of about 1.2 nautical miles
  • It's length couldn't be determined. It looked like a illusion .
  • For some weird reasons if I step 3 m, I lost 1 world day.
  • If I step back 1 m, I gained half-earth day .
  • I kept on walking and running but I was found to be at same place.

What could the mysterious phenomena be? \color{#3D99F6}{ \text{What could the mysterious phenomena be?} }

OPTIONS

  • A. A infinite length, moving cylindrical shaped, time travelling aid
  • B. A spherical ring, fixed at a point, which acts like a time machine
  • C. A superluminal phenomena which produces a high energy which binds time and controls it.
  • D. None of the above

Clarifications :

  • AI refers to Artificial Intelligence like Siri, Cortana, and Google Now.
  • Nautical miles is a measurement, based on the circumference of the earth.
  • 1 nautical miles = 1.852 km
  • 1 earth day = 24 hours
B only A only D only A, B and C B and C A and C

Option A.

A infinite length, moving cylindrical shaped, time travelling aid

If it was an infinite length of cylinder, moving in the opposite direction of motion of person moving above it, then the person will remain in the same place he is. There could be a question "What if the speed of cylinder change?". This is only a possible explanation and not a solution, it itself is a phenomena. And if it acted like a time traveling gadget, he could see the difference in time. Don't raise silly questions 'How?'. He's on a trip to universe and visiting all places, he need advanced devices for it, won't he have a simple time measuring gadget?

Option B.

A spherical ring, fixed at a point, which acts like a time machine

If it was a spherical ring, fixed at a point. Think of a large wheel, or a barrel fixed to two walls through a rod. If you stand on it and start rolling, You will at the same place, but will have a illusion that you are moving if it's 1.2 nautical miles wide.

Option C.

A superluminal phenomena which produces a high energy which binds time and controls it.

This would be a good explanation. If it itself can control time, whatever distance you go you could come back to past and remain at same place you are.

You must surely be a fan of sci-fi, especially ones that are based in space. However, I've never heard of a 'he' Alice. :P
