Two pigeons were once eating grains off of the ground.A flock of other pigeons flew over them.one of the two pigeons said to them, we and you and half of you and quarter of you are one hundred.how many pigeons were in the flock?


The answer is 56.

2+u+1/2(u)+1/4(u)=100. then u(7/4)=100-2 or u=98*4/7=56

two,were there. let x be the flock of birds according to the question, 2 + x + x/2 + x/4 =100 on solving,we get x=56.

fraction larger than unity is given as difference between two numbers. solving 7x/4=100-2=98 we get x=56.
