In Vedic math, to find the cube root of a 6 digit integer, you find the first 3 digits, in this case, 970, and find which cubes it lies between. 970 lies between 729 and 1000. Find the cube root of 729, which is 9. Then, we make a table of one's digits of cubes. The only one that has 9 is 9. This concludes our answer to be 99. Another helpful insight is that the answer can only be 2 digits, and 8^3 does not end in the number 9, but 9^3 does.
