1 solution

Be 10 a + b 10a+b the number.

After the modification in the number, we have:

10 ( a + 5 ) + b 3 = 10 a + 50 + b 3 = 10 a + b + 47 10(a+5)+b-3=10a+50+b-3=10a+b+47

The number modified is twice the original number or:

20 a + 2 b = 10 a + b + 47 20a+2b=10a+b+47

Simplifying:

20 a + 2 b = 10 a + b + 47 20a+2b=10a+b+47

20 a + 2 b 10 a b = + 47 20a+2b-10a-b=+47

10 a + b = 47 10a+b=47

So, the original number is 47 \boxed { 47 }
