The Shortest Route

Level pending

What is the square of the distance of the shortest possible route which Brilli The Ant can take to travel between two diagonally opposite vertices of a cuboid with sides 13.9 meters , 19.7 meters and 25.4 meters.

1) 1774.12

2) 1932.58

3) 1977.97

4) 2227.22

Details and Assumptions ::

The answer is actually the sqrt of(1st option)

Hey....the question asks for the square only...you probably misread it...

The question should actually ask for the square of the minimum distance since the option is the square of the actual answer ::

sqrt(1774.12) === 42.12

We first find out base diagonal length by taking ssquares of two adjacent sides since it is right angled trianle. Now,taking vertex of two diagonally opposit of cuboid we find out length of diagonal ( again a right angled triangle by squaring up the trird side and diagonall estimated in first step and get vaue mentioned in 1).
