The campaign

Algebra Level 2

A military venture gained 10 miles of territory on day 1, 9 on day 2, 8.1 on day 3, etc.

If they continued gaining ground at this rate indefinitely, every day gaining 0.9 times the amount on the previous day, and the campaign lasted forever, how much territory in miles will they eventually conquer?

The answer is 100.

By geometric progression formula, total amount= 10 * (1/(1 - 0.9)) = 10 * 10 = 100 miles

I do not agree as per day eleven when they reach 59,5 miles keeping the progression if applied logic they would actually loose territory !
