THE SWORD PROBLEM
There are 1000 people standing in a circle, numbered from 1 to 1000. The person with number 1 has a sword in his hand. He kills the one beside him i.e. 2 and passes the sword to the next. The next (3) kills the one beside him i.e. 4. If this cycle goes on continuously, who will be the alone person to remain alive in the end?
The answer is 977.
