If we start typing numbers from 1 to 1000 in a typewriter , then how many key strokes are required to type the numbers, all from 1 -1000.


The answer is 2893.

To type the numbers ,

1-9 we need 1x9 =9 strokes

10-99 we need 90x2= 180 strokes

100-999 we need 900x3= 2700 strokes

so finally to type 1000 we need 4 strokes

so total number of strokes is 9+180+2700+4=2893

so the answer is 2893
