Thermal Efficiency in a Reversible Process

A quantity of perfect monoatomic gas is performing the reversible cycle in the figure. If the thermal efficiency of this cycle can be written as η = a b \eta=\dfrac{a}{b} , where a a and b b are coprime positive integers, what is the value of a + b a+b ?

  • The molar specific heat at constant volume is: C V = 3 2 R {C}_{V}=\frac{3}{2}R .
  • Thermal efficiency is defined as the ratio of heat input to work output, i.e. η = W Q in \eta=\frac{W}{Q_\textrm{in}} .

The answer is 417.

Thanks. I've filed a bug and we will look into it, to confirm that people who request a password reset are indeed getting sent and email and can open it.

If so, that propably indicates that your email server is filtering out our emails. If so, you can add "Brilliant.org" to your trusted list of email senders.

I've verified that we've sent you numerous (at least 14) emails with a subject of "Hey aryan, resetting your password on Brilliant ...."
