Since no statement is true, Droid 1 and Droid 2 who say "This is the droid you are looking for." are not R2D2. That leaves D r o i d 3 \boxed{Droid \space 3} , which is R2D2. Droid 3's statement is also false, which satisfies the condition.

Try also Part 1 and Part 2 .

Isn't it interesting how just changing the number of statements that are true, we can get each of these droids to be the one that we're looking for?

I wonder if there are any other such examples.

Plot twist: droid 2 is actually R2D2's father.

Since none of these statements are true, the droid we are looking for is not Droid 1 or Droid 2 since that would make their statement true. This means that the only droid left, Droid 3, is the droid we are looking for.

as R2D2 was escaping capture , its more logical to try to divert attention to another droid . thus Droid 3 is the one

Because we have "exactly 0 of these statement are true", let's eliminate the idea of the first and third statement is true. The answer is not D2, too, because if it's true, the second statement is true and be contrary to the suggestion. Now, we have only one choice, the third droid.
