Solve for x x :

16 e x e x = 6 \large \dfrac{16}{e^x} - e^x = 6


Note: e e is the Euler's number


The answer is 0.69.

Let e x = y e^x=y :

16 y y = 6 \frac {16}{y}-y=6

y 2 + 6 y 16 = 0 y^2+6y-16=0

y = 8 y=-8 or y = 2 y=2

Only possible e x = 2 x = l n 2 e^x=2 \Rightarrow x=ln2
