2 solutions

( 2 a + 1 ) + ( 2 b + 1 ) = 2 ( a + b + 2 ) (2a+1)+(2b+1)=2(a+b+2) But 2 x + 2 y = 2 ( x + y ) 2x+2y=2(x+y) is also even so the counterexample is the pair in which both the numbers are even . 2&6 is the only pair that satisfies the condition of the counterexample ,so the answer is option number 4 \boxed{4}
