As given the perimeter of the triangle is 6 cm so obviously one of the side will measure 2 cm. Let's take this side as the base. Other two sides will be 2 cm and 2 cm. Therefore height of triangle will be 1.7.

Area of triangle= ½×Height × Base = ½×1.7×2 = 1.7 cm²

To maximize the area, the given perimeter must be an equilateral triangle.

Wrong solution. The assertion "Obviously one of the side will measure 2 cm" has not been proved.
