After finishing the class now you are on the way to home, you have $16$ pens and $6$ pencils in your bag and $8$ pencils in your hands. On the way home you lost $7$ pens and $5$ pencils from your bag. Then after $30$ mins later you reached to your home. Then you put down your bag and see $9$ pencils on the table. So how many pencils now do you have in your hands ?

You have 16 a pens and 6 pencils in your bag

You lost 7 pens and 5 pencils from your bag

From the begining you have $8$ pencils in your hand, On the way home you lost $7$ pens and $5$ pencils from your bag

since you put down your bag and see $9$ pencils on the table, doesn't include you have them

I like the way you put down your bag with 8 pencils in your hand. :p
