The king had 10 goats and he gave 2 goats to a stranger,

10 2 = 8 Goats . \huge \color{#20A900} 10 - 2 = 8 ~ \text{Goats}.

His soldiers bought 10 goats, he have

8 + 10 = 18 Goats . \huge \color{#3D99F6} 8+10 = \boxed{18} ~ \text{Goats}.

10-2=8, 8+10 = 18
