During a sunset, the light that scatters to the observer, from overhead, has traveled a long distance through the atmosphere and through Ozone in the atmosphere, and since Ozone has a particular love towards the red end of the spectrum. Light becomes more blue dominated before it scatters to the observer. This blueing makes overhead sky bluer.
