If 1/7 part of job is complete, then 6/7 part of job is remaining.

If 1/7 part is done in 6 days, so 6/7 part of job will be completed in 36 days by cross multiplying.

Now add 6 to 36.Therefore, the answer will be 42 days.

6 6 x 7 7 = 42 d a y s 42\ days

6/(1/7)=42 that's all

This was really easy.

1/7 of the job is done in 6 days.

So, 1 (or the whole job) is done in 6X7=42 days.

w=1/x + 1/y ; 1/7=1/x + 1/6 then solve for x therefore, 42 days...
