A and B started from the same place at the same time towards to the city of Chittagong at 10 km/hr and 15 km/hr respectively. A and B reached Chittagong at 10:10 AM and 9:40 AM respectively. What is the distance (in km) of Chittagong from the starting place?

Let D D be the distance and T T the time for the slower one to travel it.

The difference in times is 0.5 0.5 hours. So D = 10 T = 15 ( T − 0.5 ) D=10T=15(T-0.5)

From this equation T = 1.5 T=1.5

D = 10 T = 15 D=10T=\boxed{15} km
