Remember Doc telling it to Marty that once he slipped and hit his head. When he was conscious he drew a small drawing. That was the flux capacitor which made time travel possible.

Yeah, but the flux capacitor doesn't work without plutonium or travelling at a certain speed! The only thing it doesn't use is uranium.

Yep that is right. But there is an alternative to plutonium that is lightning. And although it is regarded as a glitch but it is shown that they sometimes traveled without hitting 88 mile per hour barrier. Plus plutonium is used to generate 1.21gigawatts of electricity. It is the flux capacitor which channels it all and does the impossible. Stuff like plutonium and uranium were already available but it was only after the invention of flux capacitor that time travel became possible.

It is also called by Doc as the core component. And the other alternative to uranium is Mr. Fusion Home Energy Reactor. It converts household waste to energy.

All time favourite movie.

Marty:Doc, this is heavy.

Doc:Heavy, there goes the word again! Is there a problem with the earth's gravitational force in the future? Great Scott! XD
