To Draw or not to Draw 2

Logic Level 2

In a game of Tic-Tac-Toe , O \color{#3D99F6} O goes first and X \color{#D61F06} X goes second . O \color{#3D99F6} O 's aim is to make the game end as a draw, whereas X \color{#D61F06} X 's aim is to make either one of them win the game. Assuming optimal play, who will achieve their aim?

To Draw or not to Draw 1 (the difference is in who's strategy is which)

X \color{#D61F06} X O \color{#3D99F6} O

This is similar to the experiment done on Brain Game. I watched it a week or so ago. So, yea, you can say I kinda cheated. Anyways, the rules: 1. O goes first, X goes second 2. O wants draw, X wants to win or lose So player 1 can draw in an O anywhere on the grid, but when player 2 comes into play, their X determines where they want to force player 1 to place their next move. Note that each move X makes after that is a force move.

And uh, how do you do enter on this??? Coding? Sorry, newbie here!

20/June/2018 Stephen Mellor: What happens if O decided to not play the centre first? By symmetry, you only need to consider 2 options, corner or side, but how does that affect it? I'm still gonna say that X will win. Like I said before, the second move ultimately decides the winner. Unless X fails to corner O, then X will normally win. Here's the solution to what happens if O plays side. I'm assuming that X and O are really good logicians. If you want to explore more pathways to play, probably play with a friend or create a pathway map. I'm gonna slack off here and do the possibilities for the sides only. Thanks for asking! Sorry for the 4 day delay! Anyways, I'm a bit lazy so I'm not gonna do the full solutions...but I've done solutions for 'if O takes the side in move 1'. I've linked it in the solutions in the update. Thanks!
