tan^{-1} |y/x| = tan^{-1} |-1/1| = -45

The complex number is in the 4th quadrant, to the argument is between 90 -90 and 0.

It cannot be - 45. The correct answer is either 45 or 135.

It would be best if you specify the range of the angle in the problem (i.e. 180 < x 180 -180<x≤180 ) to remove ambiguity.

Numerically 315 degrees is also correct as it lies in the 4th Quadrant
