Too Many Marbles To Count

Suppose a machine places 123 000 809 marbles in a straight line. There are 8 marble colours that go in this pattern.

BLUE, CYAN, PURPLE, MAGENTA, RED, MAROON, BROWN, GREEN

Assuming that the machine perfectly puts marble colours in the correct way, what would the 123 000 809th marble colour be?

Maroon Purple Green Cyan Blue Red Magenta Brown

123 000 809 ÷ 8 = 15375101 remainder 1.

If the number divided by eight had a remainder of one, then blue will be the colour because nine, when divided by eight has a remainder of one and the ninth marble colour is blue and so on.

Therefore, the 123 000 809th colour is blue.

Nice solution! Just curious... why did you choose the number 123000809?
