Torque on an electric dipole

What is the torque on an ideal electric dipole with moment p = A z ^ \vec{p} = -A \hat{z} placed in an external electric field E = B z ^ ? \vec{E} = B \hat{z}?

For an electric dipole,

τ = p × E . \tau = \vec{p} \times \vec{E}.

But since z ^ × z ^ = 0 , \hat{z} \times \hat{z} = 0, τ = 0 \tau = 0 for this problem.
