Traffic Light paradox

If there are 4 traffic lights such that two, which are directly opposite are showing the same light (either green, red or yellow) . Also timings of lights are not same. Prove that whatever be the timing of the lights, the number of possible permutations of lights of different colour is always going to be the same and that is equal to x. (x is an integer always)
