let the speed of train be x km/hr let speed of car be y km/hr time taken by train =250/x (time=distance/speed) time taken by car=120/y
In total it takes 4 hours 250/x+120/y=4 ----------------(1)
in second case train travels 130 km 130/x+240/y=43/10 --------------(2) let 1/x=a and 1/y=b
250a+120b=4 ------------------(3) 130a+240b=43/10 --------------(4)
solving (3)and (4),we get a=1/100
now 1/x=a x=100 Thus we get speed of train 100km/hr
