Trainamatics : Catch your train

Classical Mechanics Level pending

Engine of a train that is moving with uniform acceleration passes a pole with speed u while the last compartment passes the pole with speed v. The middle point of the train passes the pole with speed :

(v+u)/2 ((v^2 + u ^ 2 )/2)^1/2 (v^2-u^2)^1/2 (v-u ) / 2

Let l be the length of the train Case 1: v^2 -u^2= 2al. .... (1) Let v' be the speed of the middle point of the train Case 2: v'^2 - u^2= 2a(l/2)...... (2) From 1 and 2.... 2v'^2- 2u^2 = v^2 - u ^ 2 ....so solving the above equation we get option one as the correct answer
