Transformer basics

A transformer is connected to a 230 V 50 Hz 230\text{ V } 50 \text{ Hz} system. The transformer nameplate reads

Vpri Vsec
230 V 12 V

and

Ipri Isec
2A 38.33A

If the transformer is in an open circuit on the secondary side. What will current measurement will be examined on the primary and secondary side?

Ip = 0 Is = 0 Ip = Value < 0 ; Is > 0 Ip = Value > 0 ; Is = 0 Ip = 2 A; Is = 0

The reason for measuring a small current on the primary side is due to the magnetizing inductance and internal resistive losses within the core. Even though no current will flow on the secondary side
