Trapezium - Equal Area

In trapezium $ABCD$ with $AB$ and $CD$ being the parallel lines, $EF$ is a line parallel to the parallel sides and it divides the trapezium into two equal areas. If $AB = 8$ and $CD = 12$ , find the length of $EF$ .
