The solution is x 2 + 5 x + 6 = 0 ( x + 2 ) ( x + 3 ) = 0 x 1 + 2 = 0 x 1 = 2 or x 2 + 3 = 0 x 2 = 3 \ \begin{aligned} x^2+5x+6&=0\\ (x+2)(x+3)&=0\\ x_1+2=0\;\rightarrow\;x_1=-2\;&{\color{#3D99F6}{\text{ or }}}\;x_2+3=0\;\rightarrow\;x_2=-3\ \end{aligned} Thus, max ( x 1 , x 2 ) = 2 \max(x_1,x_2)=\boxed{-2} . # Q . E . D . # \text{\# }\mathbb{Q.E.D.}\text{ \#}

x 2 + 5 x + 6 = 0 ( x + 2 ) ( x + 3 ) = 0 x = 2 ( or ) x = 3 2 > 3 x^2 + 5x + 6 = 0\\ (x + 2)(x + 3) = 0\\ x = -2 \left(\text{or}\right) x = -3\\ -2 > -3
So, answer is 2 \color{#69047E}{\boxed{-2}} .

Omg, you just solved a tough question

x²+5x+6=0 x²+3x+2x+6=0 x(x+3)+2(x+3)=0 (x+3)(x+2)=0 x+3=0 or x+2=0 x=-3 or x=-2 The greater value of x is -2.
