Since DE is parallel to BC

By thales theorem,we get

AD/DB=AE/AC

2/3=AE/AC-AE (EC=AC-AE)

do reciprocal on each side

3/2=AC-AE/AE

3/2=AC/AE -AE/AE

3/2=18/AE-1

3/2+1=18/AE

5/2=18/AE

AE=2*18/5

AE=36/5

A D D B = A E E C \dfrac{AD}{DB}=\dfrac{AE}{EC}

2 3 = A E 18 A E \dfrac{2}{3}=\dfrac{AE}{18-AE}

36 2 A E = 3 A E 36-2AE=3AE

36 = 5 A E 36=5AE

A E = 36 5 AE=\dfrac{36}{5}
