Tribal Logic

Logic Level 1

A tribe once had the following custom. Their chief would stop every trespasser, asking the purpose for trespassing their land. If the chief thought the answer was true, then he would toss the trespasser of a cliff. If he/she refused to answer, they would be released. If the chief thought that the reply was a lie, he/she was fed to the lions. What could be a trespasser's reply, such that he/she is released, without being silent?

I am going to swim. I am going to be fed to the lions. Not possible. I was going to meet you.

The trespasser should say :" I am going to be fed to the lions. If the chief thinks it is a true statement, he would be tossed of a cliff. But then, he the chief could not let the trespasser be fed to the lions. If the chief thinks it is a lie, then the trespasser has some other reason except to be fed to the lions. Thus, the trespasser had to be fed to the lions, whereas not being able to complete his work. And he did not keep silent.
