The older brother is 4 and the younger brother is 2. In 96 years the older one will be 100 y.o. and the younger one 98 y.o.

Half of four is two so the younger brother must be 2 years shorter

Following 100 - 2 = 98(years)

The older brother is 4 4 and the younger brother is 4 × 4 \times 1 2 \dfrac{1}{2} = 2 = 2 years old

The younger brother is 2 2 years younger than the older brother

So, when the older brother is 100 100 years old the younger brother is ( 100 2 (100 - 2 ) = 98 = 98 years old.

The difference in their ages is always 2 2 .
