The person standing front on is 40cm. He rotates so that only 30 cm i([s showing.

If you draw this graphically it's a section of a circle. Both sides are 40 cm. However from the back side perpendicular down. The length becomes 30cm.

Cos theta = 30/40

Theta = 41
