Let line M be the x -axis and line N be y-axis. So the slope of line M is 0 and the slope of line N is undefined. Therefore, (slope of line M)(slope of line N) = indeterminate.

Let slope of M be m1 and slope of N be m2. We have tan(π/2) = (m2-m1)/(1+m1m2) = 1/0 or Let k/0. So m1m2+1=0 No matter what slopes are.
