True Test

Arun and Arjun are 2 shifty witnesses in a court case. Arun tells the truth 75% of the time, and Arjun tells the truth 80% of the time.

If they were to narrate the same incident, what is the percentage probability that they will contradict each other?

20 75 35 50

Probability of Arun speaking truth P(A) = 75% = 3/4

Probability of Arun not speaking truth P(A ' ) = 1/4

Probability of Arjun speaking truth P(B) = 80% = 4/5

Probability of Arjun not speaking truth P(B' ) = 1/5

percentage of contradiction = P(A) * P(B' ) + P(B) * P(A ' ) = 7/20 = 35%

What about the case when BOTH lie?I actually calculated that and got 40%. Any Thoughts?

Same here .

if they both lie, it wont make any contradiction. the question is about conradiction, not the truth.

But it would contradict. You can't know if each lie is the same. They might be lying in different ways.
