Under pressure!!

Mariana Trance near Philippines is the deepest place on earth.It's depth is 10863m. If the density of sea water is 1025kgm^-3,then find the pressure on the floor of Mariana Trance.

1.09*10^8 1.09*10^6 6.8*10^8 6.8*10^7

Knowing that ρ = M V = M A d \rho = \frac{M}{V} = \frac{M}{Ad} and P = F A = M g A P = \frac{F}{A} = \frac{Mg}{A} , we now obtain the expression for the pressure on the floor of Marina Trance as:

P = ρ d g = ( 1 , 025 k g / m 3 ) ( 10 , 863 m ) ( 9.8 m / s 2 ) ( 1 N 1 k g m / s 2 ) = 109 , 118 , 835 = 1.09 × 1 0 8 N / m 2 P = \rho d g = (1,025 kg/m^3)(10,863 m)(9.8 m/s^2)(\frac{1 N}{1 kg \cdot m/s^2}) = 109,118,835 = \boxed{1.09 \times 10^8 N/m^{2}}
