-X denotes the mixture of 4 hydrocarbon( namely A,B,C&D).X gives positive test bromine water & Tollen's Reagent. When X reacted with excess of chlorine in sunlight gives two compound M and N. X gives two compound (P) and (Q) when treated with chlorine in aluminium chloride( absence of sunlight ). Ozonolysis of X gives three compound (R),(S),and (Z). (S) when treated with NaOH (50%) gives (E) and (F). When (F) is heated at 360 C evolves hydrogen gas. When (X) is treated with E in presence of HF and sulphuric acid gives only two products (T) and (U) which are isomers. (E) when treated with CO in presence dicobalt octacarbonyl at 210 C under pressure gives an acid (G) which is treated with sodalime to give a hydrocarbon which belongs to (X). (R) is treated with LAH-ether to give a dihydroxy compound(H) whose deydration gives an allene with 3 carbon atom. M when treated with (Fe + water ) gives (I) which is used as an anaesthetic. I reacts with (aniline +KOH) gives a compound with unpleasant odour. One component of X is removed when X is treated with Tollen's Reagent and remaining when treated with sulphuric acid gives two compounds J and K.
