  1. Rose beat Yvette, who beat Sam
  2. Marsala beat Rose but lost to Jaxon
  3. Valentina lost to Jaxon and Marsala ​but beat Rose
  4. Valentina beat Sam by three places
  5. Sam beat Talia
  6. Yvette beat Talia by two places

Who came in first?

I wrote down a list of people who could not come first.

  • clue 1. Yvette and Sam not first place
  • clue 2. Rose and Marsala not first place
  • clue 3. Valentina not first place (and Rose, but we already know she's not first)
  • clue 4. no new info on first place
  • clue 5. Talia not first place
  • clue 6. no new info on first place.

Then I looked at all the people taking part:

Talia, Rose, Valentina, Jaxon, Yvette, Sam, and Marsala

Remove from the list those who are not first place and see what is left.... Jaxon

Clues 4 and 6 seem unnecessary. The rest should give you an undeniable order.
