345 × 999 = ( 1000 − 1 ) × 345 = 345000 − 345 = 344655 345×999=(1000-1)×345=345000-345=\boxed{344655}

If we use the fact that 1000-1=999 we could do 1000 times 345=345,000 345,000-345=344655
