Persons A and B are good friends. A is a seller of memory sticks. When B comes to buy a memory stick from A he offers to sell the memory stick at the cost price which is 200 for each stick. B wants to buy a memory stick by offering a Rs.1000 currency bill for which A does not have the change. So A goes to the neighbor shop and brings the change for Rs. 1000 in exchange for the Rs. 1000 currency bill given by B and then A sells him one memory stick for Rs. 200 and gives the remaining amount of Rs. 800 to B.And the transaction is complete. After some time, the neighbor shop owner realizes that Rs. 1000 currency bill given by A is fake and gives it back to A and collects the same amount in authentic currency. Now A does not want to report to the police on B since he is a friend and decides to destroy the fake currency note. Now what is the loss for A?

Neighbor gives change for fake thosand note and gets the same amount back after realising it's fake. Finally fake note stays with A. It doesn't have any value. But A gave a memory stick worth of 200 and 800 in cash for a fake note ( of value none ) to B. So, he is at loss of 1000 only.
